Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teacher Assistant. As a Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with the lead teacher to support the educational and developmental needs of students. Your role will involve assisting with classroom management, implementing lesson plans, providing one-on-one support to students, and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position requires excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities, ensuring they are engaging and age-appropriate.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs or learning challenges, following their individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals.
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a safe and orderly environment, addressing behavior issues, and promoting positive behavior.
  • Assist with classroom preparations, including setting up materials, organizing supplies, and creating visual aids or displays.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher, identifying areas for improvement or additional support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting respect, empathy, and cooperation among students.
  • Assist with student assessments and evaluations, including grading assignments, recording scores, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to develop and implement strategies for student success and growth.
  • Provide support during transitions, such as classroom changes, lunchtime, recess, and field trips.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all policies and procedures related to privacy and safety.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent;additional education or certification in early childhood education or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Knowledge of child development principles, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors with professionalism and composure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assist with classroom preparations and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Flexibility in working hours, as some positions may require early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends.
