Health Advocates Network is seeking a Residential Youth Counselor to work at a Facility in Baltimore, MD. This is a registry position with our company.
Pay Rate: $17 - $19 / hour
Shifts Details:
Sunday Through Monday (8am-3: 00pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Counselor to join our team. As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will be responsible for providing support, guidance, and care to youth who are in transition. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong commitment to helping young individuals develop emotional, social, and life skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a safe and supportive environment for youth in transition.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each resident to address their specific needs and goals.
3. Foster positive relationships with residents, promoting trust, respect, and open communication.
4. Assist residents in developing and practicing essential life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal hygiene.
5. Plan and facilitate group activities and workshops to promote socialization, teamwork, and personal growth.
6. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
7. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, educators, and medical professionals, to develop comprehensive care plans.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident progress, incidents, and interventions.
9. Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behavior and interpersonal skills for residents to emulate.
10. Assist in the transition process for residents, including preparing them for independent living or reintegration into their families.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience working with youth/adults in a residential or similar setting is highly desirable.
2. Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with youth.
4. Strong crisis management skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
5. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of residents and the program.
6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
7. First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
8. Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening, CPS clearance
