7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 13 Bed Observation Unit.
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 1 4, 1/5 nurse ratio with a Charge Nurse resource
9. Dress Code: Any Color Scrubs, no childish cartoon characters. No Micro fleece material.
10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. There is a day of Epic Inpatient Nurse training. Followed by 2 12 hr. Shifts with a preceptor familiar with the unit.
Additional Comments: We are a new unit just hiring our initial core staff. We see a wide variety of diagnoses ranging from minor traumas to pre-op surgeries, to GI/GU issues. The patient length of Stay is shorter than your general medical unit, so we generally turnover our 13 beds about 1.5 times in a 24 hr. Period. We are looking for adaptable, teamwork oriented, positive clinicians.
