1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Types and ages of patients, number of rooms.
Medical Surgical duties and skills. Able to take care of general Medical Surgical patients of all ages.120 bed hospital.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) What equipment is attached to the clinic, x-ray, lab or do they have to send out for these? What hospitals will have privileges if any.
ATRMC uses EPIC (EMR), Omnicells with bar-coding to administer medications.
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Skills may include anything from Surgical (Ortho, Neuro, CV, etc.)
Family Practice, Cardiology, Geriatrics, etc. Expert IV skills and general medical surgical nursing skills with at least 2 years experience. ATRMC has 3 M/S floors, Ortho/Neuro, Medical Cardiac and Medical Adult/Pediatrics
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (BLS, ACLS, NCCPA/AANP) Is a national certification required? Is a DEA, Prescriptive Authority required?
BLS required, ACLS and PALS preferred but not necessary.
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (What support staff are in the clinic;Is a doctor available by phone, in the clinic, etc.) Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?
Needed are 2 RN s working 3-12 hour shifts per week, One for the night shift and 1 for the day shift. Dayshift starts at 0645-1915. Night shift starts at 1845-0715. Every other weekend required when scheduled. ATRMC has hospitalists on duty 24 hours
6. Number of patients in a day;who do they have as support staff?
Hospitalists are on duty 24hrs.
7. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Nurse to patient ratio 5-6: 1 on days, 6-7 on nights

Professional attire---scrubs
9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Hospital orientation including Epic is about 1 week, unit orientation is usually 2 shifts but depends on the needs of the individual.
