Job Description
Staff Today, a HAN Division, is currently seeking a Psychology Associate to work at a facility in Roanoke, VA. These are registry positions with our company Staff Today.
Pay Rate: $57 / hour
Job Details:
- 6 months or longer, 40 hours per week, and we' d like them to start as soon as possible.
Purpose of Position:
- Provides mental health services to inmates including crisis intervention, screening, psychological
- Assessment and evaluation, psychoeducational services, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and release
- Planning under the supervision and direction of the Psychologist/Psychology Associate Senior. Screens, tracks and
- Monitors inmates with mental health service needs in general population and special housing. Involved in the development,
- Implementation and monitoring of mental health services, policies and programs at the facility. May be involved with special
- Units or programs. Serves as a consultant to Administration, Security, Treatment and Community Corrections staff.
- Provides in-service and other training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities or Competencies:
- Minimum: Demonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans. Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group counseling or therapy. Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices.
- Demonstrated ability to provide training.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification:
- Minimum: Graduate degree in Psychology (clinical, counseling, or clinical social work) or an equivalent degree in related human services field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced coursework in psychology is required.
- Training and experience in the treatment of mental health disorders.
- Relevant professional experience under supervision to include demonstrated skills in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviewing, and report writing.
Preferred:
- Licensed as a mental health professional and/or certified as a service provider preferred. Experience providing mental health in a correctional, forensic, mental
