Knowledge of the current principles, procedures, techniques, and instrumentation used in evaluating or treating injured, ill, or disabled patients through therapeutic use of everyday activities to help patients develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. Directs screening and assessment, treatment, intervention, administration, program planning, and documentation for patients to enable them to improve their optimal functional abilities. Applies clinical reasoning in developing physical therapy plans and programs.
