Job Description
Staff Today, a HAN Division, is currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work at a Facility in Waupun, Wisconsin. These are registry positions with our company Staff Today.
Pay Rate: $22 / hour
Shift Details:
- Class: Phleb Shift: 1 Start: 06: 00: 00 End: 16: 30: 00
Primary Duties:
- Perform morning blood draws in a secure facility
- Must be able to navigate campus with 3 different buildings and work with patients
- Must follow Joint Commission lab standards such as using 2 patient identifiers, draw proper colored tube tops in the proper order; and label the tubes in front of the patient
Other Duties:
- Collect and store blood samples from patients
- Distribute samples to designated departments
- Monitor storage and inventory of supplies
- Maintain clean and healthy work environment
- Adhere to laboratory safety policies and procedures
- Practice proper patient identification
- Label vials with patient names and dates
- Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient
- Expect to work with many patients varying in age and health status
- Be friendly, courteous and sympathetic when it comes to working with patients
- Keep your phlebotomy cart or station well-organized
- Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year (12 months) of experience in Phlebotomy
- Must have up to date credentials in the state of Wisconsin
- A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
