Shift details: Fri/Sat as needed 7am-5pm or any other 2-3 days weekly
Job Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to psychiatric patients under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
Observe, monitor, and document patients' physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
Take and record vital signs and collect specimens as needed.
Support therapeutic activities and encourage patient participation in treatment programs.
Implement individualized patient care plans while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Communicate patient observations and concerns to the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Assist with the orientation and training of new Behavioral Health Assistants when assigned.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and required clinical training to maintain competency.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a BHA.
De-escalation training (preferred)
Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
