Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a school setting in Washington. The LPN will be responsible for providing healthcare services to students and staff, supporting the health and well-being of the school community, and collaborating with school nurses and administrators to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to students and staff for illness, injury, and chronic health conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Perform health screenings and assessments to monitor students'health status
- Assist with managing students with special health needs and developing individualized healthcare plans
- Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with school nurses, teachers, and administrators to support students'health and wellness
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
- Participate in school safety and emergency preparedness plans
- Stay current on best practices in school nursing and healthcare regulations
Qualifications:
- Current Washington State LPN license
- Experience working as an LPN in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a school environment
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to school health services
- CPR and First Aid certification
