Job Description
Staff Today, a HAN Division, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work at a Correctional Facility in Burkeville, Virginia. This is a registry position with our company Staff Today.
Pay Rate: $40 / hour
Job Details:
- 8a-8: 30p
- 10a-10: 30p
- 7a-7: 30p
- 8p- 8: 30a
- Will have to work every other weekend
- Will also have to work one major Summer and one major Winter Holiday.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care to ill, injured, or disabled patients
- Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
- Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
- Maintain accurate patient medical records
- Provide companionship and basic care to patients
- Administer prescribed medications to patients
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year (12 months) of previous working experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have up to date credentials in the state of Virginia
- A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Proficiency in the English language is necessary for communication with other staff and patients. LPN must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
