Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work at a Correctional Facility in Laurinburg, North Carolina . These are registry positions with our company.
This shift is the swing shift that bridges coverage from dayshift to night shift. They will assist with anything not completed for the day, and be assist to main medical and the charge nurse. At 1800, night shift replaces day shift staff and the swing shift helps complete remaining duties (medication pass, NMOS, wound cares). Day shift staffing is 6 to 9 staff and night shift is 4 to 5 staff. There are 2 mid shifts on each rotation.
Orientation for those who have not worked NCDAC at all is 10 hours M-Th for the first week, then M-F 8 hours for the next 2 weeks. With previous NCDAC experience, training is 1-2 weeks depending upon needs of individual/length of time since last worked for NCDAC.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least one year (12 months) previous working experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Must have up to date credentials in the Client
A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
Familiarity with medical terminology
Ability to build rapport with patients
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Job Responsibilities:
Administer nursing care to ill, injured, or disabled patients
Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Provide companionship and basic care to patients
Administer prescribed medications to patients
