Job Description
Staff Today, a HAN Division, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work at a Correctional Facility in Dillwyn, Virginia . This is a registry position with our company Staff Today.
Pay Rate: $26 - $35 / hour
Pay rate is determined by experience.
Shift Details:
- Day Shift (5: 00 AM – 5: 30 PM)
- Night Shift (5: 00 PM – 5: 30 AM)
- Must be able to work every other weekend, 1 major winter holiday, 1 major summer holiday.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care to ill, injured, or disabled patients
- Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
- Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
- Maintain accurate patient medical records
- Provide companionship and basic care to patients
- Administer prescribed medications to patients
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year (12 months) of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have up to date credentials in the state of Virginia
- A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Proficiency in the English language is necessary for communication with other staff and patients. LPN must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
