Description: Must be a RN, must be willing to work the floor as needed. Must have experience with Infection control and MDS. Assistant current DON with oversight on hot charts, QAPI, skins, infection control and MDS.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrates/encourages opportunities for carrying out mission. Assists with recruiting, hiring, and staffing work area. Acquires resources and means that promote a quality work environment;ensures quality performance and conformance with regulation and laws. Keeps abreast of and implements new programs or practices. Accepts accountability for activities under direct control;plans and organizes work with and for department. Exercises sound judgment and decision-making. Serves as the primary backup for the Director of Nursing Services position. Performs/ assigns completion of pre-admission assessment on a timely basis;assures a comprehensive nursing assessment of all residents is done and interventions for plan of care are formulated to address needs on admission and on an ongoing basis according to state and federal regulations, location procedures or other guidelines. Assures plan of care and interventions are evaluated for effectiveness on an ongoing basis and adjusted and updated accordingly. Assures physicians are notified of change in condition;request and orders are processed on a timely basis. Reports / assures timely follow up of signs / symptoms of resident infections. Assists with maintaining thorough and accurate records for each resident. Explains procedures to residents before and during interactions. Responds appropriately to emergencies. Handles linens properly and disposes of linen or supplies in adherence to regulations and guidelines. Follows standard precautions by using personal protective equipment and observes transmission guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education Experience Licensure Certification:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior work experience may not be required to be hired into this job. Supervisory experience is preferred. Registered nurse licensure for state of practice is required.
Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge: nowledge of basic nursing skills;knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.

setting.
Job Description Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Documents
resident history, symptoms, medications and care provided in compliance with applicable
standards/regulations. Utilizes technology to enhance quality resident care, to collaborate with inter[1]professional team members, effectively delegate to and supervise unlicensed personnel, assume overall
nursing accountability for a resident assignment and serve in leadership roles on department/organizational
tasks forces and committees. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing
expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the
specific care area or unit. Must have effective communication skills to collaborate, negotiate and resolve
conflicts, situations, and/or issues with peers, inter-professional colleagues, residents and families. Must
have strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills to analyze data and appropriately respond to
changing situations. Coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education, triage, and various
other nursing interventions. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the
Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure.
