Valid NYS License Registered Professional Nurses required. Must have valid, current CPR status These positions are for staff nurses. 2-10 Conducts count with RN going off duty per Directive 4929, Maintains accurate counts of controlled medication, tools and sharps, Maintains log book with accurate reflection of all events during shift, Prepares and administers 1: 1 medications, Insulin, MAT, Ensure for 5 pm & 8PM med run, Maintains current orders for 1: 1 Medication, Insulin, Ensure & MAT, Completes finger stick glucose as per MD orders. Reorders medication when needed via CIPS, Completes assessment for nurses sick call, emergency sick call and emergency response to all areas of facility when needed inclusive of Visitors. Initiates blood exposure protocol for I/I & Employee when significant exposure is deemed by MD on call or Tele-med, HIV testing when indicated. Conducts emergency tele-med when needed( for Incarcerated Individuals), administration of TB tests for employees. Employee accident reports and emergency treatment, screening of incoming draft charts. Orientation of incoming draft. SHU admission, Routine EKG's, completion of pre-op histories and pre-anesthesia forms, coordination and organizing routine physical exams, Input data into FHS1 Computer system, enter lab appointments, OMH and MD appointments based on priority, Referral of Medical, Dental and Psychiatric services as needed. Advises Security staff when sharps containers are full to bring sharps containers to medical waste building, Assignments as delegated by Nurse Administrator or Facility MD. This position is 3-11 on weekends

Maintains current orders for 1: 1 Medication, Insulin, Ensure & MAT. Conducts finger stick glucose as ordered by MD, Testing of glucometers for quality control. Reorders medication when needed via CIPS. Obtains sick call slips from security staff and creates sick call list for next morning. Completes assessment for nurses sick call, emergency sick call and emergency response to all areas of facility when needed inclusive of Visitors. Initiates blood exposure protocol for I/I & Employees when significant exposure is deemed by MD on call or Tele-med, HIV testing when indicated, Conducts Emergency tele-med when needed( for Incarcerated Individuals). Administration of employee TB tests, Employee accident reports and emergency treatment. Referral of Medical, Dental and Psychiatric services as needed, Stocks Med room supplies. Preparation of medical chart for sick call that entails pulling the chart and preparing the AHR. Calender is checked and charts pulled for dressing changes/treatments;Check calender for any emergent blood work that shall be collected then sent to Alice Hyde Laboratory. Assists NA with all delegated tasks, completes Comprehensive Medical Summaries for releasing/paroling I/I's. Maintains list of I/I's trained for Narcan and complete DOCCS Release form via blue zone email, print immunization list for release. Monitor monthly release list for those requiring CMS for follow up care in the community.
