Health Advocates Network is seeking a Mid- Level Provider to work at a facility in Houston, TX. This is a registry position with our company.

Pay Rate: $139 / hour
*1099

Shift Details:
  • Monday to Friday 8: 00 AM to 5: 00 PM
General Summary:

The Clinical Health Services (CHS) Mid-Level Provider functions as a healthcare provider under the supervision of the Community Health and Wellness Division (CHWD) Clinical Lead and the medical oversight of the CHWD Supervising Physician. The Mid-Level Provider delivers safe and compassionate care as a vital member of the healthcare team, providing patient-centered care and ensuring patient safety. This role serves patients seeking services from the (CHS) Program, working with the clinical team to create and maintain efficient, patient-centered daily clinic operations while providing comprehensive care to all Harris County Public Health patients. The provider operates within the legal scope of practice for a Mid-Level Provider and adheres to federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as the policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct patient care in accordance with the Texas Medical Board, Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, Nursing practice act, and Harris County Public Health (HCPH) procedures and protocols. Complies with US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) guidelines for treating/screening program-specific clients.
  • Completes and reviews health histories, performs physical examinations, and reviews and orders appropriate laboratory tests and immunizations.
  • Orders and monitors prescribed medication in accordance with Pharmacy D regulations.
  • Makes referrals to other providers or agencies, as appropriate.
  • Uses Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) expertise to serve as a mentor and resource person to all clinical staff.
  • Seeks to assure that policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assists with training new clinical staff.
  • Attends and actively participates in clinical provider meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's degree as an Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or as an Advanced Practice Provider - Physician Assistant
  • Licensed to practice in Texas as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified
  • At least one (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in an out-patient clinical setting
  • Valid TX Driver's License
  • Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Preferred Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certified
  • Preferred Experience working in family planning medical clinics
  • Master's degree as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • Nurse Practitioner or as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • Physician Assistant
  • Licensed to practice in Texas as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified
  • At least one (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in an out-patient clinical setting
  • Valid TX Driver's License
  • Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a professional clinic environment, community setting, and occupationally a medical mobile unit.
    This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Requirements:
  • This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
Equipment/Access Needed:
  • Laptop, Epic / Immtrac2 / Signature pad software / BIG IP, Badge Access
Additional request:
  • In addition to the existing qualifications, we now require candidates to have experience with IUD insertion and removal as well as Nexplanon certification.
  • Able to see patient at all ages and all races.
