Minimum Requirements:
•High School Diploma or GED.
•Read and understand English fluently.
•Must be willing to learn and follow proper procedures as taught.
•Must be able to pass background check.
•Must be able to pass FBI background check if not a resident of PA for the past two consecutive years.
•Must pass a Pre-employment Physical Exam and two-step Tuberculin test.
Role Description:
•Performs routine work which can be learned on-the-job.
•Follows work assignments that are received both orally and in writing.
•Works closely with Food Service Supervisor to maintain established standards.
•Stores food and supplies in resident dining areas. Can be in refrigerator or storage areas.
•Portions foods in advance of meals for tray assembly.
•Prepares nourishments for resident's evening snack and between meal snacks.
•Assembles supplies and supplements for distribution.
•Performs basic unskilled food preparation tasks by opening cans, preparing sandwiches and other simple food preparation tasks.
•Prepares tray line for tray assembly by turning on necessary equipment.
•Sets up tray line with required food, trays, dishes, portioning utensils, and tray tags.
•Assembles meals on trays by serving foods indicated on the menus and resident tray tag.
•Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, dishes, flatware, serving utensils, refrigerators, food carts, work surfaces, serving areas, and other related food service areas and equipment.
•Disposes of trash, garbage, and soiled linen in appropriate receptacles.
•Transports tray trucks, food nourishments, special functions, and other supplies to and from the dietary building.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Duties:
•Unloads food and supply trucks, transports and stocks food and supplies to kitchens, freezers, coolers, and storerooms.
•Plates desserts, bowls, salads, and fills salt, pepper, and sugar receptacles.
•Dishes out hot food items.
•Calls out diet orders for tray assembly;sets up plates, and places food items on tray and transports trays to and from serving area.
•Washes pots, pans and other preparatory utensils;polishes silverware;and cleans dining rooms serving areas, kitchens and other food preparations.
•Cleans refrigerators, food carts, toasters, grills, coffee pots, and other equipment.
•Sanitizes counter tops and dining room furniture.
•Scrapes dishes and silverware, loads and operates dishwashing machine, and unloads and stocks clean items.
•Cleans floors, walls and ceilings which includes dusting, mopping, sweeping, stripping, and waxing.
•Performs related work as required.
Communication:
•Participate in Dietary Department meetings as requested.
•Notify Supervisor on duty regarding any issues with co- workers. Follow designated chain of command if issues are not resolved.
•When there is interaction with the resident, all workers are expected to interact with respectfully.
General Functions:
•Maintain ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality and abide by HIPAA as trained.
•Other duties as assigned.
