Health Advocates Network is seeking a Early Head Start Teacher to work at a Facility in Temple Hills, MD. This is a registry position with our company.

Pay Rate: $23 / hour

Shifts Details:
  • Monday through Friday 8am-5pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Head Start Teacher with a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification to join our team. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care to infants and toddlers. Your expertise in child development, nurturing approach, and ability to create a stimulating learning environment will contribute to the overall growth and development of the children in our program.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of infants and toddlers.

2. Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, and independence.

3. Establish positive and supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, fostering a sense of trust and collaboration.

4. Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor children's progress and identify areas for individualized support and intervention.

5. Collaborate with families to develop individualized goals and strategies to support children's development and address any concerns or challenges.

6. Provide a variety of learning experiences, including play-based activities, sensory exploration, music and movement, and early literacy and numeracy skills.

7. Implement positive behavior management techniques and promote social-emotional development through modeling and guidance.

8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's attendance, development, and any significant observations or incidents.

9. Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and parent-teacher conferences to support continuous improvement and effective communication.

10. Adhere to all program policies, procedures, and licensing regulations to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children at all times.

Qualifications:

1. Child Development Associate (CDA) certification in Infant and Toddler Care.

2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood education setting.

3. In-depth knowledge of child development theories, practices, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.

4. Strong understanding of early childhood education standards and best practices, including Head Start Performance Standards.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, families, and colleagues.

6. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects and celebrates diversity.

7. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.

8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and documentation.

9. Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

10. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
