Pay Rate: $18 - $20 / hour
Shifts Details:
- Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Dedicated Aide. As a Dedicated Aide, you will provide one-on-one support and assistance to individuals with special needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall development. Your role will involve implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), assisting with daily activities, and promoting independence and inclusion. This position requires excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals with special needs, following their individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals.
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care, feeding, and mobility, as required.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of the individual.
- Implement behavior management strategies and techniques to promote positive behavior and social skills development.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure consistent and effective support for the individual.
- Monitor and document progress, behaviors, and any incidents or concerns, reporting them to the appropriate personnel.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in educational and recreational activities, promoting independence and social interaction.
- Provide support during transitions, such as classroom changes, transportation, and community outings.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in working with individuals with special needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all policies and procedures related to privacy and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;additional education or certification in special education or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of special education practices, behavior management techniques, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals, parents, and professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping individuals with special needs achieve their full potential.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors with professionalism and composure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Flexibility in working hours, as some positions may require early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends.
