Monday thru Friday 730am - 4pm

Licensed Physician Duties & Responsibilities:
The Medical Director plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility, including examining referred patients, daily infirmary visits, and ensuring thorough, problem-oriented documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or on approved forms.
They demonstrate clinical expertise by responding to emergencies, supervising and instructing healthcare personnel, and consulting with medical specialists and professionals to deliver high-quality care while adhering to established policies and standards.
The Medical Director collaborates with the Health Services Administrator to improve patient outcomes through continuous quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics, pharmacy service monitoring, and liaison with community healthcare providers.
They take an active role in reviewing and approving treatment protocols, clinical policies, and disaster plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
The Medical Director's commitment to excellence extends to providing clinical oversight, participating in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, and making recommendations to enhance patient care and safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical school graduate
Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred
Must have and maintain current licensure within the State of employment
Maintains a current DEA number
Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
Must maintain privileges and CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State
Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
