Job Description: Clinical Nurse/School Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Nurse/School Nurse to join our team. As a Clinical Nurse/School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services and promoting the well-being of students in our school community. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality nursing care, address health concerns, and support students'physical and emotional needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses or injuries.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
3. Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and maintain accurate records of results.
4. Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific medical conditions, in collaboration with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, and school staff.
5. Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions, ensuring appropriate accommodations and support are provided.
6. Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency services, parents/guardians, and school administration as necessary.
7. Educate students, parents/guardians, and staff on health-related topics, including preventive care, hygiene, and safety measures.
8. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other school personnel to address students'health needs and promote a healthy school environment.
9. Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
10. Stay updated on current healthcare practices, policies, and regulations relevant to school nursing, and participate in professional development activities.
Requirements:
1. Valid nursing license and certification as a Registered Nurse (RN).
2. Proven experience as a clinical nurse or school nurse is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of pediatric healthcare, including common childhood illnesses, immunizations, and developmental milestones.
4. Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills to identify and address health concerns promptly.
5. Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with students, parents/guardians, and school staff.
6. Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
7. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to school nursing.
8. CPR and First Aid certification.
9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school community.
