Staff Today is currently seeking a Advance Practice Registered Nurse to work at a Facility in Wailuku, HI . These are registry positions with our company.

Pay Rate: $71 / hour

Job Descriptions:
  • Board Certified - Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner or equivalent
  • Ability to start within next two weeks or sooner (preferred, not required)
  • Minimum 3 month commitment
  • Part-time
  • Shifts based on operational needs, during "business hours "- some flexibility available
  • Required to be on site
  • Current HI APRN & RN License with Prescriptive Authority in Good Standing
  • BLS Certification, Hands on Training
  • Active DEA Registration and State Controlled Substance Registration
  • Familiarity and comfort with Medication Assisted Treatment/Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (preferred, not required)
  • One year of experience is required

The job description for this role includes:

·Performs examinations and assessments of patients for specific intervention. Makes referrals to medical doctors when necessary.
  • Performs examinations and assessments and collects additional medical histories from community providers if warranted.
  • Recognizes early and advance deviation from the normal in vital signs and the general health and mental health conditions of individuals. Recognizes signs of specific diseases and abnormal findings that indicate a disease state.
  • Prescribes appropriate medications as permitted under Hawaii Administrative Rules Tile 16, Chapter 89C.
  • Orders laboratory and other tests when indicated by abnormalities on the history and physical examination.
  • Institutes treatment and orders appropriate follow-up care in accordance with standardized protocols, when deemed necessary.
  • Provides ongoing primary care and/or mental health intervention on adult inmates.
  • Evaluates ambulatory patients with complaints of illness and specified chronic diseases.
  • Collaborates with the physician for the treatment and/or disposition and follow-up of patients with complex medical and/or mental health problems.
  • Provides informal health teaching and counseling to inmate patients using communication theories and skills.
  • Provides formal patient instruction in regular classes for inmate patients with chronic diseases, utilizing knowledge and skills of group counseling.
  • Reports identified communicable diseases to the Department of Health and provides consultation to nursing and correctional staff in matters of infection control.
  • Manages rehabilitative medical resources in patient care planning, such as referrals to physiotherapy, dietician, prosthetics and orthotics, dentistry, substance abuse counseling, etc.
