Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
Operate sterilization equipment following established protocols.
Prepare and distribute sterile instrument trays and supplies to clinical departments.
Inspect instruments for functionality and report damaged equipment.
Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
Monitor sterilization processes to ensure quality and compliance.
Store sterile supplies properly to maintain sterility and inventory levels.
Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure equipment availability.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sterile processing department.
Qualifications:
Ensure that profiles are submitted only for CSTS who are fully committed to working a per diem assignment.
Required certifications include Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or a certificate confirming successful completion of sterile processing course, AHA BLS, MAB or CPI, LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City Fire), and must complete the LA County Employee Health Clearance before assignment start date.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a CST.
Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
