Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a School Nurse in a school setting in Maryland. The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of students, staff, and visitors within the school environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric care and a genuine passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health conditions
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify health concerns
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with special medical needs
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor and manage students with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies
- Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and healthy school environment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records and documentation
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced school environment
- Knowledge of Maryland state laws and regulations related to school health services
